'The Fame' Reaches Four Million Sales Mark in U.S.

Lady Gaga’s debut album The Fame (re-released as The Fame Monster in November 2009) this week tops the four million sales mark in the United States. The number doesn’t include the Fame Monster 8-track EP, which was released separately in selected countries and has sold an additional 1.4 million copies to date.

Gaga’s next album, titled Born This Way, is due in stores on May 23rd.

Lady Gaga Teases with First 'Born This Way' Lyrics

On Thursday, Lady Gaga released the opening lines from her new song “Born This Way” as a thank-you to fans’ support on Twitter. “Thank God 4 Gaga is trending?! More like Thank God 4 Monsters,” she wrote. “Maybe I should leak the lyrics to ‘Born This Way’ today, whatddya say?” Check out the lyrics after the jump… “Don’t Be a Drag, Just Be a Queen.” Lady Gaga revealed more exclusive lyrics to Gaga Daily: “No matter gay, straight or bi, lesbian, transgendered life I’m on the right track baby, I was born to survive.”

Even more lines from the song have been released: “Give yourself prudence, and love your friends, subway kid rejoice your truth.

Lady Gaga called in to Ellen DeGeneres’ Show yesterday to wish her a happy birthday. Gaga also talked about her upcoming CD Born This Way and revealed that she will perform the title track at the 53rd Grammy Awards.
